Hoodoo Gurus are bringing their 'Back To The Stoneage' tour to New Zealand, April 2025

Legendary Australian rockers Hoodoo Gurus are dialling it back to the dawn of their world-conquering career, announcing a triple-date tour of Aotearoa toasting the 40th anniversary of their 1984 debut album Stoneage Romeos.

The veteran team of Dave Faulkner, Brad Shepherd, Richard Grossman and drummer Nik Rieth will cap off a monstrous 47-date run of shows in the US and Australia before returning to our shores, headlining Wellington's new Meow Nui, Christchurch's James Hay Theatre, and Auckland's The Powerstation in April 2025.

Named after a short film by the Three Stooges and featuring standout singles My Girl and I Want You Back, Stoneage Romeos was a pivotal release for Hoodoo Gurus — hitting the album charts in their homeland and New Zealand (plus Sweden!), scooping up Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards, and now regarded as a bona fide classic of its era.

For their forthcoming shows, Hoodoo Gurus will be playing Stoneage Romeos in its entirety, followed by a veritable lolly scramble of time-honoured favourites — What’s My Scene, Bittersweet, Like Wow - Wipeout, 1000 Miles Away plus even more. 

"We can’t wait to get back to New Zealand. Stoneage Romeos was a pivotal album for us and many of its songs have remained live favourites ever since. It’ll be great to play some of those “less-travelled” songs from it on this tour - even though that means we’ll be playing longer sets to fit everything else in as well. Hah!
