David Gilmour has reunited with his late Pink Floyd bandmate Richard Wright in the new video for the title track of Gilmour’s latest studio album, Luck And Strange. The video is available to watch below.

Released last week, Luck And Strange is Gilmour's fifth solo album and his first in nine years. The album features Wright on electric piano and Hammond organ, with his contributions originating from a 2007 jam session at Gilmour’s barn.

Gilmour reminisced about the session in an interview with Prog magazine: “After touring in 2006, Rick expressed interest in joining my band, and I gladly agreed. We wrapped up the tour in January, and I invited the band to jam at my house for a week. It was freezing in that barn, but we went ahead with it. The first jam we did became the title track of the album. I added a chorus and middle-eight, rearranged the chords, and while Rick’s Hammond licks are featured, I’ve layered guitars over them. It’s a bit surreal, but I’m not fazed by Rick’s presence. It feels natural—just Rick and me making music.”

Luck And Strange has already claimed the top spot on the UK Albums Chart, making it Gilmour’s third solo album to reach number one, following On An Island (2006) and Rattle That Lock (2015). He has also achieved six number one albums with Pink Floyd.

In a statement to Official Charts, Gilmour expressed his gratitude: “I’d like to thank everyone who’s bought Luck And Strange and helped make it Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart.”

Prog magazine praised the album, noting, “As fans, we always hope for more from our favorite artists. Luck And Strange stands as a fitting testament to Gilmour’s considerable talent—a truly delightful album.”

Gilmour has also recently put to rest rumors of a Pink Floyd reunion. In an interview with ITV News, he responded to speculation about a possible tour, saying, “It’s not going to happen. There are only three of us left, and we’re not in touch. [Laughs] So, it’s simply not going to happen.”

In other news, Gilmour has announced two exclusive rehearsal performances in Brighton on September 20 and 21, offering fans a preview of his upcoming tour, which will kick off in Rome at the Circus Maximus on September 27. The tour will include shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October and further performances in Los Angeles and New York.
